The highest number of COVID-19 cases reported yesterday, have been recorded from the Colombo District.
The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said 54 cases were reported from the district with 12 from Boralesgamuwa and eight from Padukka.
221 coronavirus patients were in Sri Lanka identified yesterday increasing the virus caseload to 93,993.
46 infections were meanwhile reported from the Jaffna District while 31 individuals who arrived from overseas also contracted the virus.
Furthermore, 29 COVID-positive cases were reported from Ratnapura, 16 from Kandy, 12 from Kalutara and eight from Galle.
Meanwhile six individuals tested positive from Kilinochchi, five from Matara, three from Monaragala and two each from the Gampaha, Kurunegala, Ampara and Hambantota districts.
One case each was also recorded from the Kegalle, Matale and Batticaloa districts.
Three more COVID-19 related fatalities have been identified in Sri Lanka, raising the death toll to 591.
The deceased have been identified as a 38-year-old from Thanamalwila, a 60-year-old from Hettipola and an 89-year-old from Homagama. (Global Times)
