The dates of Liquor outlets closed for Sinhala and Tamil New Year

All liquor outlets in the country will remain closed on 13th and 14th April in view of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

The statement issued by the Excise Commissioner General notes that permit holders of tourist hotels and other specific stores will be permitted to remain open.

Furthermore, liquor outlets across the country will be closed on the 26th of April in view of Poya.

The Excise Department said it will carry out special raids during the specific dates and has requested the general public to lodge complaints pertaining to any violations via the 1913 hotline number. (Global Times)
