Chaminda Vaas will be re-appointed as the fastball coach of the Sri Lanka Cricket team, stated the President of the Sri Lanka Cricket, Shammi de Silva.
This was stated at a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday.
“It has now been filled by Chaminda Vaas once again. We have taken Chaminda Vaas again. I will inform the media in two or three days. Sri Lankan cricket needs to progress. We have never met a better committee for that. Will not meet. Aravinda, Roshan Mahanama, Murali, Sanga and Mahela all come together to take decisions and discuss with us amicably. There is no problem with that. ”
Chaminda Vaas previously served as the fastball coach of the Sri Lanka Cricket team.
He resigned last February.
Four hours before the Sri Lankan national team left for the West Indies cricket tour, there was a great deal of controversy in the field of cricket over the resignation of Chaminda Vaas.
It was reported that a dispute over pay had led to his resignation. (Global Times)
